While not another tribute outing, the episode’s theme of self-acceptance was inspired by the singer’s runaway hit “Born this Way.” In fact, the title of the episode is “Born This Way” and it concludes with a rousing performance of the No. 1 smash.

Although much of the episode has already been shot, I’m told producers — pending a firm go-ahead from the network — are planning to go back and incorporate two additional musical numbers to fill out the expanded running time. It’s not clear if those numbers will be Gaga-related.
