Keeping up with her ongoing tradition of finding the internet’s most talented unseen musicians, Ellen DeGeneres welcomedMaria Aragon to the show Tuesday to perform Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way.”
Last week, Aragon’s YouTube video of her singing “Born This Way” skyrocketed into the millions of views when Lady Gaga herself saw it and tweeted that she cried watching it. Days later, Aragon, who lives in Winnipeg, Canada, was flown to Los Angeles to appear on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”
“It’s not every day that you get feedback from a superstar saying that you did great on a cover that’s her song.” said Aragon in the interview with DeGeneres. “We talked and she was actually having a bad day and I made her day, which was really overwhelming because it’s not every day that you get to talk to a superstar.”
During a phone conversation with last week, Gaga invited Aragon to duet “Born This Way” with her on stage in Toronto.
