Renee and Camille are besties on-screen and off!
Ever wondered what it would be like to hang on the Secret Life of the American Teenager set? Find out now! Renee Olstead (Madison Cooperstein) gave us the scoop about a typical day at work in an exclusive interview withWetpaint. Sit back, relax and imagine you’re right there with her!
Wetpaint: What’s a typical day like on the set of Secret Life?
Renee Olstead: I can walk you through a whole day! I’m usually there by six o’clock for a typical day because my hair takes the longest. They roll it out before they curl it. I go to hair and makeup immediately. I usually just drop my stuff at my trailer and go straight to hair and makeup after that. Sometimes I take my iPad with me and I’ll kind of browse around and get on wifi when they’re doing my hair.
I read my signs for the day [note: Renee Olstead’s birthday is June 18, so she’s a Gemini!]. Camilletypically comes in about 30 minutes later and we start yakking back and forth when were in our chairs getting our makeup done. Then we usually get breakfast. We walk to the craft service truck and she always gets a quesadilla in the morning. We always have breakfast together and we definitely bond over breakfast.
And then we will go to our trailers for a little bit and then probably by 7 o’clock or so have our first rehearsal for a scene. We will run through the scene in front of the entire producer/crew group and they will light the set while we’re getting into our wardrobe and we will start filming! For an episodic, we’re probably done by five or six at the latest, and a lot of times, [other] shows go until two in the morning filming, so we’re spoiled for sure. One o’clock is lunch, that’s another big thing (laughs).
